My name is Nabeel Kemal and I am a rising Sophomore planning to double major in Mathematics and Computer Science. This summer I worked as a member of the Thayer Lab studying the free energy landscape of proteins.

Abstract: Under the notion that molecular motions such as protein folding and conformational substate selection are energetically biased, the free energy landscape becomes an integral informational tool in the design of allosteric effectors to control the biological processes of proteins. In order to capture the free energy landscape, vectors can be utilized using magnitudes and angles taken from the output of simulations using Molecular Dynamics (MD) package AMBER. These vectors then can be overlaid onto the molecule of study to visualize the free energy landscape.
